Let's Get Sketchy:

Here's the sketch, and mine:

Just some pics of my two youngest daughters playing around outside.

lcom sketch 105: Our Cat

I love this simple sketch and the layout I created with it

i had a few cute pictures of Shy Guy, my cat. I used some bright Heidi Grace paper for the background, and my Meow Cricut Cartridge for the cat in a boot!!

lcom sketch 106

sketch 106 at Let's Capture our Memories:

and my take:

I hardly took any pictures of my year on a bowling team...I guess I was too busy drinking and laughing! But I did have a few, and some momentos.

Caroline the Cat!

Let's Capture Our Memories sketch 107

I used this sketch as inspiration for this page of little Caroline.
The photo is so blurry..I apologize. It is adorable irl.

I will post another sketch from this site next!!

Road Trip...!

I used the sketch at Grand Diva's this month

to do this page of my daugther Gracie and her best friend Kelly on a bus trip to Colorado!!

Color challenge at Creating with Paper and More.

Here is the color challenge over at Creating With Paper, etc.

I used the gray, light blue, dark orange and a goldish color which worked well with the buildings in these photos. I aslo combine this challenge with the Tic Tac Toe board at Rochelle Spears

I did the bottom row across: A journal card in the center, the color gold is in the stickers at the bottom of the page, and  I used a fence border to cut the blue strips...I decided not to use the fence, but cut little strips out of them for an architectural look.

Angel- Craft Hoarders Anonymous

there is a grid challenge at Craft Hoarders this month:

I had to use one thing from each column, and I chose
1. Paint- red paint for the vines on my page
2. Ribbon- as a border on the photo
3. Stamping- used a leaf stamp on my vine
4. Chipbord- the holly
5. Flowers- little red rosettes

My niece as a little baby...she is so precious!

Gramma's Birthday

Challenge 3 this month at Counterfit Kit Challenge blog is to use negative space, or negatives.
I punched some stars out of strips of paper for simple embellishing on these old photos of my grandma's 80th birthday.
I used some blue star paper very similar to the paper in the kit!

Miranda at 12....Counterfit Kit Challenge

Over at Counterfit Kit, I was inspired to throw together a kit based on this inspiration kit:

I pulled out a few black and white graphic pages, some lighter blue ones, and some cards with florals or gold writing. I also pulled out some gold paper to make title letters out of. I neglected to take pictures of all this stuff.
But I did do Challenge 1, scrapping a list. I made a list of things about my daughter at age 12!

I used gold paper for title letters and some other items from my kit.

Just Monkeying Around....sketch at Creative Scrappers.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #285

My take on the sketch:

Lil Peanut

Here's my little peanut, Caroline, dressed up for her first Halloween! Caroline is my brother's baby, and lives in another state, so I don't see her very often. Fortunately, I get lots of pictures of her!!

This is based on the sketch at C'est Magnifique this month.

She's so adorable!

Artastic Challenge....

I played along at Artastic this month..

The inspiration art piece this month was so bold and bright. I wanted to do something with a neutral/brick background and brighter colors.

Here is the artwork:

I used a brick stencil and tried using my mists. It looked a bit sloppy but I went with it anyway! It's fun to make a mess once in awhile. I tried to bring out the blue from the pictures.

What fun this was!

Hello Chickens! at Berry 71 Bleu.

Berry71 is challenging all to scrapbook winged things for the January challenge.

So how about some chickens?
Here, my little niece, Caroline, introduces herself to my cousin's chickens. She held her arms out wide, and said, "Hello, Chickens!" and was quite upset when they ran away from her. I used some chickens from the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, painted a sun and used baker's twine for rays. I used gingham blue paper to match Caroline's dress.

ArchiScraps- Good Morning Sunshine

Archiscrap's January challenge uses this building as inspiration:
The requirement was to us clouds on a layout.
Easy! I love clouds, and use them frequently on summer pages.

The cloud stickers look cute on the corner of this summer vacation page.

123 Challenge Blog: Summer Boating

A new month, a new challenge at 123 Challenge!
Here is the requirements this month:

I love bright yellow and used it as the background for this summer page. I did some paper folding, accordian style. The word appreciate is in my journaling..
Journaling reads, "I love this photo from years ago of my dad and my Gramma on a boat in St Lawrence River..a day full of family, friends, fun and sun, and no worries. Years have passed, and now Dad and Gramma are gone. I so appreciate the fact that I have such great memories, and that this one was captured on film!"

Fashionista! at 123 Get Scrappy

Here is January's tic-tac-doe board at 123 Get Scrappy:

I did three pages for this challege. My first one:

Sorry, a little blurry. I used a clock, rhinestones, and a white background to capture this little memory of a vacation shopping trip with the women in my family.

SAND CASTLES, 123 Get Scrappy

My second one for Jan. 2015 at 123 Get Scrappy

is Sand Castles

I used the same criteria: white background, rhinestones, and a clock. I have learned through this challenge that clocks can be a fun addition to many different themed pages. Summer time!!

MY FAMILY...at 123 Get Scrappy

And a third one for January's Get Scrappy...

Here I have rhinestones scattered across this page depicted my family entertaining ourselves on a rainy vacation day. I used three patterned papers, which is always a challenge for me. And the third requirement is a little stamped floral circle I added to the page. I rarely get my stamps out anymore, and I kind of miss them!
