Going Crazy at Cocoa Daisy!

I haven't been to Cocoa Daisy in a long time. Once I remembered my password and signed it, I realized I haven't posted there in five years! The site has changed quite a bit. The design team galleries are quite inspiring.
In the forum, they have some challenges due mid-October. Five prompts in all, and you can just submit as many as you want! Perfect since I had a scrapbooking weekend with some friends. I just took the prompts with me and went to town.

Prompt 1: Use orange and black. I am working on summer pages, so orange is appropriate. I only used a little black here in the title and doodling.

Prompt 3 is my favorite. A list of tools of which you must use at least two.

Use at least 2 of these tools on a page or card
[*]embossing folder
[*]paper punch (shape)
[*]paper punch (deco edge)
[*]electronic DIE CUTTER
[*]manual die cutter
[*]tiny attacher or stapler
[*]edge distresser
[*]HEAT gun

I use my Cricut on almost every page, so that is easy enough. But I rarely use other tools. Since I was scrapping with friends, I got to use their punches and other tools. I also dug up a few old punches myself.

For this one above, I used my Cricut for the bird cage and I used the Creative Memories border punch system for the fence.

For the below page, I used my cricut for some of the butterflies, and two different border punches. I also borrowed some butterfly punches!

Picture Perfect: Used the Cricut for the title, and my little-used tag punch to make the tag border. Also used a hole punch.

I did a lot more, but there is something wrong with my camera card. Will be back later!!

How bout a little Child's Play!

I have done this challenge blog before, and it is a whole bunch of fun.
This month, the toy to be inspired by is this little guy:

This is one toy from the past I DO NOT MISS! It always scared the crap out of me when it popped out of the box. But, even if a little creeped out, I was definately inspired.
I love the colors and decided to do a primary color scheme. I also was inspired by the playfulness and the mechanics, and chose these photos of my daughter playing on a playground.

I love the gears!!

C'est Magnifique for a beach page

October's sketch for C'est Magnifique

I love this sketch! Here is my take, using some beach pictures from my summer vacation.

I love the photo placement here..very different for me. I usually am not one to cut my photos too small, but may have to do it more often.

Color ME scrappy!!

I'm on a roll.
I think this is my first challenge at CMS.
Had to use a color pallette AND sketch. Color pallettes are hard for me. I am usually a two-or -three color kind of girl.

Of course, the colors make me think of fall. That's why I thought it'd be fun to do a summer page instead! The orange, ,yellow and green colors can by found in my photo. Adding brown and black was a bit different for summer, but I like how it turned out.

I used very little black, just as the mat for the entire layout, which is hard to see in the photo. Also, a bit is underneath the photo. I used some cocoa brown mist under the sun. I love the burnt orange color! Great challenge this month!
