Rocking Holiday Crop!!

I just love crops...they really force me to get some stuff done! This Rocking Holiday Crop ends today, and I just submitted my three pages on Facebook.
Here they are! I had to use Sketch n Scrap sketches for each challenge..

Had to use green, red and white:

Had to use my favorite manufacturer (hard to choose, I used Cloud 9 pp here) my fave technique(paint!) and my fave punch (Creative Mem. Border system, used for the fencing.)

This was a bingo sketch, using washi, punches and an arrow

November Crop at Paper Issues

I love crops...they really inspire me to get multiple pages done. It is my dream one day to do ALL the challenges in a reality, I get at least three done. Here are some I did for last weekend's Fall crop...

For the "use a big title" challenge, I had some fun with this photo of both my girls in braces. I had always wanted to get a photo of the two of them together with their sparkly smiles, and almost missed my chance! On the morning this was taken, Holly was to go to our final ortho appointment to get the braces removed. I grabbed my camera for a one last shot, just under the wire! Now they are both braces-free for many years, and my youngest daughter is the one with the sparkly smile!!

This challenge was to use just the center of the page and leave nothing on the edges. Pretty simple challenge, really, especially when using one photo! Her is my youngest, Miranda, before her 8th grade dance. Her friend, Tara is in 9th grade, but stopped by to see her friend all dressed up!!

I had some fun this summer following Miranda and her friends around the summer fair here in Oswego. I had just bought a new camera and wanted to play with it. It is asking a lot of tween girls to let a mom follow them around taking pics! The colors of the fair and the chance for action shots are just too much to pass by. Thanks for obliging me, girls!
This challenge was to use white and black with only one other color. I chose green. I played with my green paints a little, and cut out some green stars with the Cricut.

Here, I had to do a page about my favorite drink or food. I commemorated the Pineapple Chicken (served in half a pineapple!) at my fave local Mexican restaraunt. Miranda loves pineapple, and when she heard the restaurant started serving this dish, she was dying to try it!! We celebrated the last day of school here. My picture isn't great, as I was with a teenager embarrassed by her mom photographing food (hey, I was using my phone at least!) but it will do! While I was working on this page, I happened to notice a pineapple magnet on my fridge, so I added that to the page, along with some tropical leaves (from Life's a Beach) and little chicken legs (from Fast Food, one of my favorite Cricut cartridges)

Using triangles for this challenge.... I love triangles! I need to use them more.

Lasting Memories:

This is one of my favorite photos of my oldest daughter, Holly, who is now in college. She just looks so cute playing in the snow!!

This one won for November!!

I emailed Michele from the site. Thanks Lasting Memories!!

Inspired by Old Buttons

Kraft Plus One has a closet challenge going on....the inspiration must come from the closet.
I have a collection of old metal buttons stored in my closet. These have fallen off of clothes over the past several decades, but for some reason, I want to keep them even if the garment is long gone.
I was inspired by the old antiquey look of the buttons. They reminded me of these brads I've had in my stash for a long, long time. I decided to put them to good use.

I find it difficult to scrapbook historic or old-fashioned looking photos, so I kept this pretty simple, Kraft as a background works well. I added some green papers and, of course, my fancy metal brads!!

A Tad Confused but here it is!!

Here is this month's This or That Challenge by Rochelle Spears:

It says Cork or Wood, but in the post directly below, it says Tickets or Tags. I went with the Cork or Wood challenge and made this one using a wood paper background:

I like the wood and the Red White and Blue color scheme. In my attempts to use up very old scrap supplies, I added the sequin heart, which came off one of my daughter's old t-shirts from long ago! I cut it off the shirt like a decade ago and it's been sitting in my stash ever since.
This is an old cemetery in my town with British and American soldiers from various early wars.

Pixels and Paper's pretty picture for the month

Here's the inspiration photo at Pixels and Paper:

I love the colors of the whole picture. I was inspired to do a girly page with a white, pink and gold color scheme.

Here's my page with a very favorite recent pic of my three daughters

Update: This page was featured as a favorite, and ended up winning the random draw!!

Paper Issues for November

I love Paper Issues and all their challenges, plus the fact that I can submit them directly rather than from a blog...BUT I want to put my pages on my blog anyway.
Later on in the month, they are having a crop. Hopefully I can partake at least a little!
I will put all the month's pages in this spot.

The Take 5 challenge:

I chose red, yellow, stripes, more than one photo, and handwritten journaling

This is the day I took Gracie and Josh to the Taste of Syracuse festival on a sunny summer day. We had such a good time!
